
Yesterday I left my flat to pay my landlady and I returned with a chunk of salo and a zuchini. My friends want to know what salo is and so here is a photo. It's raw pig fat. It's a delicacy here in Ukraine and I will most likely be preparing this to share with Ukrainian friends when they come over for a meal.

We have this in our markets too... but under a different name.
Is there a special way of cooking it?
How do you prepare it? I'm not sure I want to know...:)
My Ukrainian mother is coming to Kyiv to show me. When we do it, I will take photos and post info on my blog? :)
